Honaker Law is a dynamic legal team built by Richard Honaker, an extraordinarily effective Wyoming trial lawyer since 1976.

Mr. Honaker handles cases throughout Wyoming and Utah, and at times in other states as well.

Mr. Honaker represents individuals and families in serious injury and wrongful death cases. Those cases include highway crashes caused by negligent truck drivers; oil field, mining, and pipeline accidents; class actions; and legal and medical negligence cases. Richard Honaker has also represented business and governmental entities, and product manufacturers.

For nearly 30 years, Richard Honaker has been rated “AV” by Martindale-Hubbell – the highest rating within the legal profession for competence and integrity. Mr. Honaker believes strongly in public service, and is a past president of the Wyoming State Bar and the Wyoming Trial Lawyers’ Association.

The Difference

Honaker Law is a firm that solves problems for people.

People who are injured and families who have been devastated by a tragic death need the support and advocacy of a legal team that understands what they are going through. First, we take care of our clients’ immediate needs. We get them to the best doctors available. We identify all insurance coverage, and we get medical bills paid as quickly as possible.

At the same time, Honaker Law springs into action to secure witness statements, photographs, and other evidence that make our clients’ cases strong. Every person we represent receives our very best effort. We have close relationships with many of the country’s finest engineers, accident reconstructionists, and medical experts, and we use them for our clients’ benefit. We build teams for our clients that extend far beyond our office walls. And we win cases.

Honaker Law limits its caseload so that it can devote the time required to each case. We review cases promptly and honestly. We tell you straight up whether we think you have a case or not, and whether we can help you. If we aren’t able to help, we try to connect you with another law firm that can.

Most of our cases involve serious injuries or death. Each case is worked up to provide the client with a fully informed view so the client can make the best choices.

Current Cases

Auto and Truck Accidents

Located on Interstate 80, we are continuously involved in federal and state cases in which people are killed or seriously injured because of the negligence of trucking companies and their drivers. One of those cases arose out of the tragic 36-vehicle collision and fire that occurred August 19, 2004 on Interstate 80 between Laramie and Cheyenne. A current case arose out of another multi-vehicle pileup in fog about 30 miles west of Rawlins.

Health Care and Nursing Home Cases

We recently resolved a sham peer review case against a hospital for $4.9 million. We represent physicians in similar cases, and sometimes represent plaintiffs in medical malpractice and nursing home negligence cases.
